Bloomberg says "bye-bye" to the GOP

Another one bites the dust:

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg on Tuesday switched his party status from Republican to unaffiliated, a stunning move certain to be seen as a prelude to an independent presidential bid that would upend the 2008 race.

If Mayor Bloomberg does decide to run for president, he’s could easily self-fund his campaign — he’s worth $5 billion. Perhaps the race for president now has a viable Republican candidate?
