If you are not familiar with the Alaskan Independence Party (AIP), I will start with a quote from its founder, Joe Vogler:
I’m an Alaskan, not an American. I’ve got no use for America or her damned institutions.
The goal of the AIP was to establish Alaska as a separate nation from the United States — basically secession. Guess who was a member of this party? None other that Todd Palin. You know, the champion snow machine driver? From AIP’s website:
Todd Palin was registered as a member but never participated in any party activities aside from attending a convention in Wasilla at one time.
As it turns out, Governor Sarah Palin was a member as well. AIP is vociferously denying it, however, this video featuring the Vice Chairman of the AIP, Dexter Clark, says otherwise. Save yourself some time and go to about 6:10 in the video.
Do we really want a VP that believes that Alaska should not be part of the United States? I wonder if Sarah Palin also has “no use for America or her damned institutions?”
